About The Position

The Software Engineer III designs and develops software applications. Performs coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. You will also be expected to lead, train, and mentor fellow engineers on development processes and best practices.

Requirements

  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
  • High degree of Initiative and timeliness in delivering work output
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and have a strong understanding of software architecture and Design Principles
  • Passionate - driven to improve education through technology
  • ​​Considered an expert in front-end design patterns
  • Professional development experience building Web services using: React, C#.Net, SQL, WebApi, and other related technologies
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work well in a team environment
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex software engineering problems
  • 6+ years of direct experience in related field

Responsibilities

  • Independently utilizes professional discretion to achieve project goals with minimal oversight
  • Proactively researches and applies new technology and methods to solve assigned tasks
  • Efficiently defines and implements programming tasks following software engineering best practices and ensures the team meets scheduled commitments
  • Capable of leading a team in departmental processes including but not limited to daily stand-ups, sprint planning, project estimates, retrospectives, pull requests, code reviews, and coteries
  • Supports and refines adopted Agile processes
  • Works with the team, product manager and project manager to ensure commitments and project visibility
  • Performs peer code reviews and collaborates with the team to improve overall design and code quality
  • Makes recommendations for system improvements and architectural direction to architects, leads, and development managers
  • Other relevant tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned
