About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Software Engineer III. In this role, you will be playing a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions that solve mission critical business problems and support Walmart marketplace growth. You will be utilizing your experience in Java, Spring framework, CI/CD to build scalable distributed systems. About Team: Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in building highly available backend systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Java / J2EE, Spring Framework, CI/CD flows, DevOps, Scrum, Kanban
  • Extensive experience in RESTful Microservices and API design, development, and management.
  • Experience with Relational and/or NoSQL Database.
  • Familiarity with containerization with Docker /Kubernetes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create robust documentation.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work on multiple requirements and features concurrently.
  • Experience with cloud native technology ; public cloud.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 4 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross functional teams including business, product and other software engineers to understand the business problem, review business requirements, draft technical requirements, develop, test, and deploy services /systems.
  • Build and Deliver scalable distributed systems in seller screening and compliance area to support marketplace growth. Perform frequent health checks and execute fixes / improvements to keep the systems up to date
  • Collaborate with your team to perform design and code reviews, implement review feedback, improve operational excellence to ensure high quality, high availability, scalable and performant systems.
  • Responsible for delivering high quality code for the software designs catering to product requirements in a fast-paced agile scrum sprint.
