Analyze current Technology Information Systems (TIS) procedures and policies within the district. Assist with the design of software to meet district Technology Information Systems requirements. Develop software, procedures, and documentation conforming to the designed systems. Adhere to federal and state laws, as well as district policies, procedures, and regulations. Essential Functions Develop complex and cross-functional solutions in order to improve district processes and decision-making using current enterprise systems and custom-developed applications under the direction of the Software Engineer Manager. Must have an understanding of the district environment and strong analytical and communication skills in order to provide technical guidance. Develop and maintain Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server Integration Services packages. Develop and maintain applications and databases by interpreting system specifications, analyzing solutions, and implementing software systems under the guidance of the Software Engineer Manager. Meet regularly with the Software Engineer Manager to provide system status and the opportunity to edit, remove, and add new modules. Manage time efficiently in order to work on different projects at the same time and meet deadlines established by the Software Engineer Manager. Work independently or with a team of software engineers to design systems and obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. Develop and deliver training and written system specifications and user manuals of custom applications produced by the software engineering team. Ability to interpret and develop documentation, including flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and pseudocode. Prepares and provides project status to Software Engineer Manager using prototypes and PowerPoint presentations. Collaborate with the software engineer team to assist in obtaining information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. Provide support on district-wide enterprise resource planning (ERP) system applications. Manage time efficiently in order to work on different projects at the same time and meet established deadlines. Continuous research and analysis of trending technologies and their practicality in our current environment. Attendance at the work site is required to meet essential functions of the job. Other Responsibilities Participate in professional development activities as required by the district. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties; support district/department goals. Maintain a professional code of ethics and perform other duties as assigned.
