About The Position

Walmart/VIZIO is seeking a Software Engineer III to contribute to the design, development, and delivery of software solutions for small to large projects. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, develop code, perform testing, and troubleshoot issues to ensure high-quality, scalable, and secure applications. The position requires technical expertise in coding, debugging, and continuous integration, along with the ability to support and mentor junior engineers. The successful candidate will drive project milestones while maintaining alignment with business objectives and quality standards. About the team: Team RAD (Rapid Advanced Development) creates production services and internal platforms supporting millions of users. The team develops multifaceted solutions including social platforms, messaging services, content management systems, AI-powered developer tools, and cloud infrastructure. Work spans full stack technologies such as Python, Rust, TypeScript, and React. Members engage in optimizing live systems, building new platforms, and experimenting with AI integrations. Emphasizing quality, testing, and security, the team values pragmatic approaches to delivering reliable software. With a manageable team size, each member has significant ownership and the opportunity to impact large-scale, technically challenging systems.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in test automation engineering
Expert-level Python programming skills with async/await patterns
Strong experience with pytest framework, fixtures, and plugins
Proven experience with functional testing, API testing methodologies, and authentication flows
Background with cloud services and backend service validation
Track record of building high-performance test execution frameworks
Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and test infrastructure
Advanced debugging and problem-solving abilities
Experience with containerization (Docker) and version control (Git) for collaborative development
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

Design and implement test automation frameworks using Python and pytest
Build and maintain scalable test infrastructure and tooling
Develop comprehensive functional and API testing for platform services and workflows
Implement performance testing strategies for high-throughput systems
Create test suites with intelligent test distribution and parallel execution
Establish best practices for test development and code quality
Mentor team members on testing methodologies and automation approaches
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate testing into development workflows

The annual salary range for this position is $99,000.00 - $198,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include : - Stock
