As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking and Small Business Lending, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. Your role involves implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas, supporting various business functions to achieve the firm’s business objectives.

  • Supports review of controls to ensure sufficient protection of enterprise data.
  • Responsible for making configurations/customization changes in one to two tools to generate a product at the business/customer request and advising colleagues in their requests.
  • Updates logical or physical data models based on new use cases.
  • Frequently uses SQL and understands NoSQL databases and their niche in the marketplace.
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems.
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Formal training or certification on SQL concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Advanced SQL skills; SQL Server and PostgreSQL experience in any other RDBMS.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering database design, database modelling, database administration, development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Hands on experience with Stored Proc, views, triggers, indexes and performance tuning.
  • 5+ years of experience in Database technologies MS-SQL Server, Postgres, Aurora Postgres.
  • 2+ plus years of experience in AWS technologies especially Aurora and Amazon RDS.
  • Proven understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security in Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Proven understanding and experience in AWS and Terraform.
  • Proven experience in understanding requirement related to extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Additional technologies like Liquibase and other automated deployment tools.
  • Knowledge about Database engineering and Data warehousing Concepts.
  • Experience with Agile based project methodology.
  • Ability to identify risks/issues for the project and manage them accordingly.
  • Knowledge or experience on ETL technologies like Informatica or Ab-initio.
