About The Position

As a Software Engineer III - Quality Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking - Payment Technology & Digital Channel Engineering Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proven successful experience as QA contributor, particularly in web application context.
  • Relevant experience in software testing and in-depth knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in the financial domain.
  • Hands-on experience with various QA testing tools, performance testing and non-functional testing tools and best practices.
  • Prior experience within the fintech and banking industries and proven success as part of QA team for highly scalable and resiliency applications.
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and operations to ensure quality objectives are met.
  • Develops and implements effective Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies for web applications, with a focus on both manual and automated testing.
  • Designs and oversees the execution of automated testing frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Ensures all QA processes are well documented and adhere to established standards and regulatory requirements such as ADA compliance.
  • Defines the QA testing scope and strategy for the team in designing, developing, and executing test plans.
  • Evaluates current QA testing processes and tools and drives improvements based on industry best practices.
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
