About The Position

Join the team leading the next evolution of virtual care. At Teladoc Health, you are empowered to bring your true self to work while helping millions of people live their healthiest lives. Here you will be part of a high-performance culture where colleagues embrace challenges, drive transformative solutions, and create opportunities for growth. Together, we’re transforming how better health happens. Summary of Position As a Software Engineer III, you deliver well‑crafted features across our AI Platform, working independently on medium‑sized scopes from clear requirements through production release. You design APIs and data flows, build backend services in Python/FastAPI and React frontends, and collaborate closely with product and design to achieve measurable outcomes. You follow established patterns and standards, contribute to code quality through reviews and documentation, and partner with teammates to iterate quickly and safely in production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Proficiency with Python and modern web backends (FastAPI, Flask, Django or similar), and solid understanding of HTTP, API design, and data modeling.
  • Experience building React (or comparable SPA) frontends that integrate with backend APIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver features end‑to-end on a small team—from requirements through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems concepts (service boundaries, async jobs, integration patterns) and integrating services in production.
  • Understanding of observability for production systems (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting) and participation in incident response.
  • Working knowledge of security fundamentals (authentication, authorization, secure data handling) as applied to web services and UIs.
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD; contributes to improvements in engineering workflows and quality.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with product, design, and engineering teammates.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Azure and containerized deployments (or similar cloud‑native environments).
  • Experience on platform or data‑intensive applications (e.g., integrating with model inference APIs, data pipelines, or analytical data stores).
  • Exposure to early‑stage or small platform teams where engineers balance shipping with building foundations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement backend services in Python/FastAPI and React frontends end‑to-end, delivering a steady stream of stories from design through production.
  • Apply clear API contracts and data flows between services and UIs; follow and contribute to team patterns and templates.
  • Practice high‑quality engineering: code reviews, documentation, maintainable designs, and thoughtful testing.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, end‑to-end) and integrate them into everyday development and CI.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release workflows so the team ships small, safe changes frequently.
  • Participate in the operational lifecycle of the features and services you build, including monitoring, observability, on‑call rotations, and incident follow‑up.
  • Implement secure‑by-default solutions within your features, including robust authentication/authorization, input validation, and safe handling of sensitive data.
  • Surface reliability and performance issues in your area, propose practical improvements, and sequence changes with your team.
  • Collaborate with product/design to refine requirements into incremental deliverables; raise trade‑offs and help optimize value/risk.

Benefits

  • In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2026.
