About The Position

We develop APIs for application developers, providing efficient implementations (e.g., Java and some C++) that prioritize performance, security, reliability, and flexibility. Framework engineers often work on device behavioral issues like battery drain. Our work involves close collaboration with various teams, including Android Wear, Android Enterprise, Android Auto, Telephony, and GmsCore, to deliver features that impact the Android ecosystem across device form factors and verticals. Android Orchestration Frameworks mission is to ensure that system resources are utilized efficiently while allowing apps to deliver great experiences. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Java, C++).
2 years of experience with Android application development.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., product, UX, privacy, security).

Responsibilities

Write a product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
