Google Flow empowers professional creators to generate high quality AI video and image content for film and entertainment following a successful web launch, we are seizing the momentum to build a mobilefirst creation experience from scratch. In this role, you will join the Labs Generative Media team, the engine behind innovations like Music Language Model (MusicLM), ImageFx, Veo, and Doppl. You will make creativity radically more accessible, useful, and playful. You will be building a new 0-to-1 product that puts professional-grade AI video generation in the pockets of creators worldwide. Labs is a group focused on incubating early-stage efforts in support of Google’s mission to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our team exists to help discover and create new ways to advance our core products through exploration and the application of new technologies. We work to build new solutions that have the potential to transform how users interact with Google. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, including experience with Dart and Flutter.
• 2 years of experience with Android or iOS application development and the mobile application lifecycle.
• Experience with mobile application testing, deployment, and release management.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science,or a related technical field.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms, with a focus on optimizing mobile client-side performance for rich media (video and audio).
• Experience with back-end systems integration, API design, or video processing technologies.
• Experience developing accessible technologies and designing mobile applications within complex technical environments.
• Understanding of state management and asynchronous programming in Flutter, specifically for handling generative AI content.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code using Flutter and Dart to build the Google Flow mobile application and enable mobile first AI video generation.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies, focusing on mobile architecture, state management, and generative AI back-end integration.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, testability, and efficiency) and foster technical excellence within the team.
• Contribute to documentation or educational content and adapt it based on product updates and user feedback, particularly for new mobile features and release processes.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues, including complex asynchronous flows and rich media handling, and the impact on service quality.
