Spanner is a globally-replicated, scalable SQL-aware database that provides strong consistency guarantees and high availability. It is a key asset of Google's external and internal product portfolio of database services. In this role, you will be working on Paxos, the consensus protocol that ensures data in Spanner is replicated across several clusters so that Spanner can keep it available in the presence of failures and network partitions. Paxos is critical for data consistency, availability and performance, and Spanner is constantly pushing the distributed systems on all these dimensions. We are looking for Software Engineers with a deep interest and significant systems experience to solve critical problems related to Spanner availability and scale.
