About The Position

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. In this role, you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. Fuchsia is a modern, open source operating system that is simple, secure, updatable, and performant. It’s a general purpose OS, designed to power an ecosystem of hardware and software, and provides core operating system functions like system resource management, a driver framework, and software abstractions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in Rust and C++.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop WLAN features, focusing on 802.11 spec correctness.
  • Write, review, and maintain python based WLAN tests that run in Fuchsia's infra connectivity test lab.
  • Contribute to the next generation of infra device architecture for Fuchsia connectivity.
  • Implement and monitor device metrics for crashes, performance, and feature rollout success.
  • Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and performance of our software stack.
