Software Engineer III, Cloud Gaia
About The Position
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We are working on the vision of implementing reliable, scalable identity infrastructure to secure Cloud service and customers. Cloud Gaia is the backend infrastructure, is powering service account, workload identity and identity data infrastructure for Google Cloud. Most GCP services are relying on our critical infrastructure to enable third-party (3p) identity federation, service authentication and credential exchange with millions of queries per second (QPS). We are looking to add strong software engineers to our team who enjoy walking into identity and security territory and solve problems that are complex, have scale and make a BIG impact! Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- Experience with Applied AI, ML Infrastructure, ML or AI for products, or related fields.
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Identify and prove the value of new GenAI features and solutions to advance the value of cloud assist.
- Lead initiatives on agentic framework, tooling, quality techniques to help scale multi-modal intent Design coverage across first-party and third-party services and workloads.
- Drive exploratory analysis of state of the modeling techniques, user engagement behaviors and product performance to discover important trends, product opportunities, and Google Cloud Assist (GCA) Design quality gaps.
