You will be a part of the BigQuery team, where you will be empowered to design, implement, launch and land large-scale, impactful projects with the necessary support and guidance, and a pipeline of enterprise customers waiting to use your features. You will be instrumental in shaping the architecture and future of BigQuery's management capabilities. This particular position is focused around improving Federation support for BigLake.   • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the its impact.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages such as C++ or Java.
  • Experience designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with data analytics metadata systems (e.g., HMS, Iceberg Rest Catalog) or data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Trino, Flink, Beam).
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience with data lakes such as Apache Iceberg.
  • Experience with Cloud Networking.
  • Experience in Apache or other similar open-source projects such as Iceberg, Delta, Hudi, Spark, Presto, Flink etc.
