As a Software Engineer III specializing in AI/ML at Google, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, optimizing, and maintaining software systems and applications that leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. This role involves working on critical projects that impact Google's operations and products, requiring a deep understanding of the AI/ML stack and the ability to write production-level code. You will also have opportunities to switch teams and projects, contributing to a dynamic and evolving work environment.

  • Design, develop, deploy, optimize, and maintain software systems and applications involving AI/ML technology.
  • Find and refine ML model input and utilize ML model output in applications.
  • Develop features for ML models and contribute to the ML model algorithm.
  • Conduct testing on code beyond unit testing, including integration, performance, stress, security, load, and fuzz testing.
  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Identify and pay off technical debt to improve long-term maintainability and modifiability.
  • Contribute to qualification, end-user documentation, production deployment/monitoring, process automation, and customer support.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve them by analyzing the sources of issues.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 2 years of software development experience utilizing C++, Python, or Java.
  • 2 years of experience with data analysis or algorithms.
  • 2 years of experience with Machine Learning tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Decision Trees, or Bayesian Networks).
  • 2 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence (Computer Vision, Expert Systems, or LISP).
  • 2 years of experience in Natural Language Processing (Generative AI, Large Language Models, Information Retrieval, Computational Linguistics, Optical Character Recognition, Parsing, or Speech Recognition).
  • 2 years of experience in Deep Learning (Neural Networks or Reinforcement Learning).
  • 2 years of experience in 3 of the following: Flume, Image Processing, Infrastructure Design, Recommender Systems, Large scale data processing, Language modeling, or Borg.
