About The Position

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Ads Square (Ads Serving Supporting Quality And Revenue) is an engineering team within Search Ads Serving Infrastructure that supports clients teams across Search Ads.

In this role, you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

Users come first at Google. Nowhere is this more important than on our Advertising and Commerce team: we believe that ads and commercial information can be highly useful to our users if that information is relevant to what our users wish to find or do. Advertisers worldwide use Google Ads to promote their products; publishers use AdSense to serve relevant ads on their website; and business around the world use our products (like Google Shopping, and Google Wallet) to support their online businesses and bring users into their offline stores. We are constantly innovating to deliver the most effective advertising and commerce opportunities of tomorrow.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with performance analysis and optimization, systems data analysis, visualization tools, and debugging.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• Experience with software development in training, developing or applying Machine Learning models.
• Experience designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience working with two or more of the following: web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
