The Advertiser Platform (AP) Infrastructure team is the bedrock of Google Ads. We provide the programmatic interfaces and high-scale data systems that power advertising experiences globally—from local small businesses to Fortune 500 enterprises. As curators of infrastructure for first-party and third-party use cases across Google Ads, Search Ads 360, and Display Ads 360, we innovate to deliver the most resilient advertising and commerce opportunities of tomorrow.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, specifically involving storage or hardware architecture.
• Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages including but not limited to Java, C++, or Python.
• Experience in designing, reviewing, and rolling out schema changes or data layer updates in a production environment.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures, algorithms, and query optimization for high-scale databases.
• Experience developing Generative AI Agentic solutions, Large Language Model integrations, or accessible technologies to improve data exploration and developer productivity.
• Experience with distributed storage engines (e.g., Spanner, F1, or Napa) and large-scale online analytical processing (OLAP) environments.
• Experience collaborating with product management and UI/UX to drive the technical direction of infrastructure-focused AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality product or system development code to manage large-scale data infrastructure and large language model-based Agentic solutions for the Ads business.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies for schema management and AI-driven data exploration.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices in style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency within the storage infrastructure.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback regarding the agentic solution.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
