About The Position

VIZIO's Technology - Software and Services team is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their growing team. A successful candidate will contribute domain expertise and make high-impact individual contributions related to UI engine development and optimization. This position will not have direct reports and is an Individual contributor. We pride ourselves on being a collaborative team here at Vizio and to accomplish this, we are in office 5 days a week in the office.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required.
• 3+ years of experience with C++ development or similar programming language.

• 1+ years Consumer Electronics engineering experience.
• Proficient in developing and optimizing for memory constrained systems.
• Knowledgeable with utilizing GPUs in embedded environments.
• Knowledge of embedded UI.

Responsibilities

• Make software engineering contributions that pull from experience developing applications in a Linux environment.
• Contribute to software architecture design and documentation for individual components as well as larger systems.
• Design solutions that meet memory and performance requirements of the target SOC.
• By 3 months you will be able to triage bugs and implement feature details by cooperating with other teams to gather information and expected behaviors.
• By 6 months you will understand our UI engine architecture in detail and what improvements need to be made for a better user experience.
• By 1 year you will be a feature owner that drives development of new engine features to support exciting new app offerings.
