About The Position

This position is hybrid in Cincinnati, Ohio or Atlanta, Georgia and sits within our Product Development division, which develops, tests, and improves our software solutions in an innovative and collaborative environment. ConstructConnect is looking for our next Software Engineer II (SEII). As a SEII, you confidently navigate your tech stack with autonomy. Your passion for learning drives application enhancements. Collaborate with your team to deconstruct tasks into manageable, testable components, delivering high-quality solutions through Test-Driven Development and automated testing.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Sciences, programming or a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years experience with Java or Python
  • 3-5 years experience with JavaScript/Typescript, React, CSS, SASS or other CSS preprocessor, and HTML
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases
  • Solid understanding of Git
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and the necessary steps within a pipeline
  • Expert understanding of Object-Oriented Programming Principles, Data Structures, and Algorithms
  • Experience with Agile processes and workflowExperience (or open to) using Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • A strong desire to write testable code and work closely with your team team to ensure our applications are of the highest quality
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and awareness of key differences between cloud native and traditional deployments
  • Capable of analyzing issues in existing code and providing root cause analysis as well as remedy options
  • Eager to learn and evolve with technology changes, including AI assisted software engineering

Responsibilities

  • Build low-latency, highly available, and performant applications
  • Build reusable code and libraries using test-driven development
  • Logically identify and resolve issues using root cause analysis
  • Adhere to our coding standards
  • Use proper branching and code review processes
  • Provide estimates for the level of effort and time for completion
  • Take part in and encourage your team to pair program
  • Work closely with your team to build automated tests and ensure they are valuable and our applications meet expectations
  • Work closely with your team to break down features into small testable stories
  • Always observant to find ways to improve our applications and how we work
  • Learn continuously
  • Address security vulnerabilities
  • Assist in the management of your team’s CI/CD pipelines
