About The Position

Raytheon is looking for a Software Engineer II / Scrum Master in the Mission Capability, Mission Cortex, Monte Carlos (MC3) Agile Release Train (ART) for Team Omega. The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating the Scrum process and helping the team work effectively. They act as a servant-leader, guiding the team in adopting and adhering to Scrum principles and practices. This involves removing impediments, coaching the team, and fostering a collaborative environment. The scope of this team includes Software Integration and Test (SWIT) for numerous builds, DevSecOps/Containerization development, Software Trouble Reports (STRs) Maintenance, and tools/infrastructure enhancements. The Scrum Master is expected to work hand-in-hand with the Product Owner as well as the Release Train Engineer (RTE) for impediment removal, continuous improvement, metric roll-up, and JIRA validation. This position is onsite in Woburn MA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++, Ada, or Python.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. government issued Interim Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience: AN/TPY-2 System and/or current Missile Defense programs with specific experience in large, complex systems.
  • Agile Management and Engineering Tools (Jira, PDM, etc.).
  • Contributions in a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to technical problems.
  • Interactions with the Missile Defense Agency.
  • Certifications: SAFe Scrum Master certification.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, suppliers, stakeholders, and customers in a team environment.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of agile methodologies and the SAFe and/or Scrum at Scale framework.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating Scrum Events: Ensuring the team conducts daily stand-up meetings effectively, focusing on progress, impediments, and plans for the day.
  • Helping the team understand and commit to the sprint goals and plan the work for the sprint.
  • Facilitating the review of the completed work at the end of the sprint, gathering feedback, and adapting the product backlog.
  • Guiding the team in reflecting on the past sprint, identifying areas for improvement, and creating action items.
  • Removing Impediments: Identifying and removing obstacles that hinder the team's progress, whether they are technical, process-related, or interpersonal.
  • Working with the team to find solutions and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Protecting the team from distractions and interruptions.
  • Fostering a Positive Team Environment: Promoting open communication, transparency, and collaboration.
  • Support to the Product Owner: Helping define and manage the product backlog.
  • Facilitating communication between the team and the Product Owner.
  • Ensuring the Product Owner understands Scrum principles and practices.
