This position can be based in Naples, Fl., or Waltham, MA. We are looking for a talented and passionate Software Engineer Level II who wants to make an impact in the medical space. With over 40 years of experience in the orthopedic industry, Arthrex is dedicated to providing safe and reproducible solutions for health care professionals. We are seeking a developer who will help us build and enhance tools and applications as we continue to help surgeons treat their patients. We work with a modern tech stack that includes Next.js, TypeScript, Golang, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and we are always evaluating new technologies and patterns that can positively impact our products. The Software Engineer Level II will be part of a team focused on building and maintaining web applications and services that support our marketing teams and sales force. Our ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing and maintaining web-based applications. The candidate will work closely with the development team to build secure, efficient, and scalable applications that provide a seamless user experience. Main Objective: Develop, support, and maintain high-end and innovative software applications that support Arthrex’s mission of helping surgeons treat their patients better. Write high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code and collaborate in a cross-functional teams.

  • Actively participate in software development and team ceremonies as a member of a cross-functional software development team
  • Develop software features using established patterns and technologies
  • Contribute to all aspects of the technology stack, from client-side programming to developing and deploying back-end services
  • Monitor applications for abnormalities and identify areas to improve availability and performance
  • Investigate and resolve bugs
  • Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, and suggest improvements
  • Continuously learn new frameworks, programming languages, and tooling
  • Occasional travel for training, meetings, or trade shows may be required
  • Programming experience in languages such as JavaScript, Golang, Ruby, Python, or Java
  • Experience with distributed version control systems such as Git
  • Experience developing and supporting web applications in a professional environment
  • Basic knowledge of web standards, device compatibility, and responsive design
  • Experience working with RESTful web services
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years of professional experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of software development experience
