Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Passionate about our mission: improving healthcare access and affordability for all
  • Knowledge of React (state management, call backs, etc) and experience building component based UIs
  • Familiarity with backend languages such as Java or Kotlin
  • Curiosity for learning, being a self-starter who is eager to try new things
  • Experience in full stack development and open to being language agnostic
  • 2+ years of experience in a full-time software engineering role
  • Ability to write clearly and document their ideas
  • Passionate about writing high-quality code
  • Experience with creating APIs using service-oriented system architecture
  • Understanding of automated testing concepts in web apps and the ability to consistently apply them
  • Knowledge of database fundamentals like indexing, SQL queries, schema migrations, and managing backups

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud technologies such as terraform or AWS
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing
  • Experience with data in healthcare, fintech, or other similar industries.
  • Experience working on compliant and secure systems, in partnership with audit, legal, and security

Responsibilities

  • Building innovative and beautiful data visualizations that illuminate the path towards higher quality care at lower cost
  • Building performant, well-documented, scalable APIs that can answer the complex questions our users have about their data
  • Partnering with other engineers to solve complex business and engineering problems
  • Designing schemas in partnership with the data engineers and health data experts that can quickly serve results and generate reports
  • Building a well-tested, continuously-deployable, and high-quality codebase that supports developer velocity and exceptional reliability
