About The Position

Engineering at BILL builds the platforms that power how businesses move and manage money at scale. BILL’s Cash Account team powers the day-to-day money movement experience for our customers, giving businesses a secure, intuitive way to hold and use their funds. As a Software Engineer II (Frontend) on this team, you’ll help build the web experiences that make complex financial workflows feel simple, reliable, and fast. You’ll help shape a rapidly evolving product area while partnering closely with product, design, and backend engineers. This team operates with a startup mentality, having built a 0-to-1 product. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s a plus)
  • Experience building web applications using a modern JavaScript framework (ideally React) and strong proficiency with core web technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
  • Familiarity with consuming RESTful APIs and working within a microservice or service-oriented backend ecosystem
  • Exposure to automated testing (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library) and CI/CD workflows, with a desire to improve code quality and coverage over time
  • Ability to break down product requirements into clear engineering tasks, deliver high-quality code in an agile environment, and seek guidance when facing ambiguity
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with an interest in solving problems in a highly regulated, customer-trust-centric space like fintech
  • A growth mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies and best practices

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leveraging Gen AI technologies to accelerate software engineering by designing prompts, rigorously evaluating outputs, and integrating LLMs

Responsibilities

  • Develop and ship user-facing features for the BILL Cash Account web experience using modern frontend technologies (e.g., React, Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS)
  • Translate product requirements and design specs into accessible, responsive, and performant UI flows that make money movement clear and intuitive
  • Integrate frontend experiences with backend services and APIs, handling state management, loading and error states, and edge cases across payment and account scenarios
  • Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate unit and component tests, and participate in code reviews to uphold engineering quality and security standards
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to refine requirements, estimate work, and deliver features iteratively in an agile environment
  • Monitor and improve the reliability and performance of Cash Account frontend features through logging, metrics, and user feedback, helping to identify and fix bugs in partnership with more senior engineers
