Latitude AI (lat.ai) develops automated driving technologies, including L3, for Ford vehicles at scale. We’re driven by the opportunity to reimagine what it’s like to drive and make travel safer, less stressful, and more enjoyable for everyone. When you join the Latitude team, you’ll work alongside leading experts across machine learning and robotics, cloud platforms, mapping, sensors and compute systems, test operations, systems and safety engineering – all dedicated to making a real, positive impact on the driving experience for millions of people. As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving technology at the speed of a technology startup. Latitude is headquartered in Pittsburgh with engineering centers in Dearborn, Mich., and Palo Alto, Calif. Meet the team: The Faults Signals and Modes team at Latitude builds the on-vehicle software that monitors the health of our advanced driver assistance features and determines whether they’re ready to operate safely. Our monitoring and state handling software is critical to the reliable operation of safety features like pre-collision assistance, Level 2 and Level 3 self-driving, and driver alerts. Our work includes designing and implementing this software in C++ under high level operating systems and realtime embedded operating systems. Our small team is divided between our headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA and southern California. We also work closely with our partners on Latitude’s systems engineering team, who are primarily based in our Dearborn, MI office. We emphasize proactive communication and using online tools to keep everyone working together efficiently.
