About The Position

U.S. Bank National Association is seeking the position of Software Engineer - ICS Credit Card Processing Systems in Englewood, Colorado. The Software Engineer - ICS Credit Card Processing Systems will be responsible for the development, maintenance and modernization of U.S. Bank's Credit Card Products backend modules. The Software Engineer will also contribute to U.S. Bank's Integrated Card Systems engineering by focusing on new developments and maintaining products to enhance user experience and convenience.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Applied Computer Science or Computer Science plus 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Technical Lead, Consultant or related.
  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science or Computer Science plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Technical Lead, Consultant or related in lieu of a Master's degree plus 3 years of experience.
  • 3 years of experience with Master's or 5 years of experience with Bachelor's in mainframe development, maintenance, and migration.
  • Experience in designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining products and technologies.
  • Experience in creating implementation plans, risk assessments, budget plans, and assessing cost and investment on projects.
  • Experience in unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting cross-system testing activities.
  • Experience with agile methodology.
  • Experience with AB Initio, VSAM, Change Man, IMS, COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, testing, operating, and maintaining products and technologies.
  • Utilizing expertise in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, DB2, and IMS.
  • Following Agile methodology and using tools like Jira.
  • Modernizing APS modules to COBOL programs.
  • Learning/training in Azure, Cloud, Automation, and AI technologies.
  • Ensuring technical designs considering scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Managing production support and the rewards product portfolio mailbox.
  • Spearheading the analysis, design, testing, development, and maintenance of software experiences.
  • Demonstrating full-stack ownership by crafting production-ready, testable code.
  • Creating optimal designs adhering to architectural best practices.
  • Incorporating feedback from code reviews to meet standards.
  • Conducting code reviews to offer guidance on engineering best practices.
  • Ensuring compliance and security best practices are followed.
  • Upholding software reliability engineering standards.
  • Embracing emerging technology opportunities.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Critically reviewing tasks and ensuring they are appropriately prioritized.
  • Anticipating and communicating blockers and delays.
