About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Software Engineer I to support the research, design, and development of software for computer and network applications, including database maintenance. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment. The position is full-time and based on-site at a government facility in Arlington, VA, with occasional telecommuting options.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an R&D environment, focusing on engineering, scientific research, or program management.
• Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.
• Active US Government TS/SCI Clearance; US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain this clearance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe PDF.

Responsibilities

• Conceive, plan, and conduct research in complex problem areas requiring novel approaches and sophisticated techniques.
• Apply programming concepts and modern software development methodologies such as agile and DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS.
• Interface with various audiences, including internal and external government and military leadership, through effective communication.
