Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX. This Software Engineer I will be a member of the progressive ARINC 661 Services team. The A661 team works on the graphics server and tooling for displays on the Business Jets, Regional Aircrafts, Commercial Aircrafts, and Military Aircrafts. The candidate will help with requirements capture and design and develop embedded software in the C++ language. The candidate will also test and verify the developed software to Design Assurance Level A fidelity per the DO-178C standard.

  • Contribute to software engineering requirements capture and analysis with emphasis on verifiability and test approach.
  • Conduct software verification activities (test case and procedure creation and debug) for embedded software of moderate complexity.
  • Generate and maintain software documentation for the software verification lifecycle artifacts.
  • Understand major Collins Aerospace processes related to software development and verification and apply them to current project.
  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts in definition, integration, verification, and validation of products and sub-systems of moderate complexity.
  • Identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues using appropriate debug and analysis tools.
  • Summarize encountered technical software issues to project leadership in a timely fashion.
  • Work autonomously with limited oversight from manager.
  • Expand knowledge base on various software and system components to support potential software development tasks.
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
