Our core mission involves developing the customer-facing Kubernetes cluster service for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) air-gapped and building a secure compute infrastructure for Gemini on GDC. We are also focused on creating centralized and uniform cluster lifecycle management for GDCV on both VMware and Bare Metal. As a software engineer on the GDC Compute team, you will be responsible for constructing a complete end-to-end solution for cluster lifecycle management for Gemini on GDC connected, GDC air-gapped (managed Kubernetes service), supporting the product roadmap. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • Experience developing in Go.
  • Experience with Linux and Kubernetes development (e.g., Kubernetes Operators).
  • Experience developing and deploying distributed systems software.
  • Experience with cloud platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the GDC compute virtual cluster lifecycle management and deliver cloud infrastructure services that ensure scalability, reliability, and supportability for air-gapped customers and Gemini on GDC.
  • Develop the cloud management APIs as the mid-tier for cluster lifecycle.
  • Possess knowledge and experiences on kubernetes and Go.
