About The Position

Software Engineer to support the Weapon System (GWS) team on the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system on the Ground Support Systems (GSS) IPT. You will be responsible for developing and implementing software capabilities that best meet changing customer needs for new and existing features, collaborating with team members, and working in a cross-functional agile scrum team.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Active Secret Clearance required
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 2+ years of relevant experience (Or Master’s degree and 0+ years of experience)
• Experience in software development with proficiency in Java and C++
• Experience using Python
• Experience working in a Linux based enviornment

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Missile Defense systems
• CompTIA Security+ certification
• Active Top Secret Clearance
• Experience with C++11 and above
• Experience with Java GUI development in JavaFX
• Familiarity with JavaFX and Java 21 features
• Experience using Atlassian toolset (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, debug and test application software and systems
• Collaborate with other software and systems engineers to determine user needs
• Support advanced portions of the lifecycle of software development including requirements definition, integration, and deployment
• Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results with limited oversight and direction
• Apply "systems thinking" to ensure developed products are scalable, maintainable, and meet end-user needs
• Communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives
