About The Position

Capital One Software is seeking a Software Engineer who is passionate about marrying innovation with emerging technologies. Building on Capital One's pioneering adoption of modern cloud and data capabilities, Capital One Software is helping accelerate the data management journey at scale for businesses operating in the cloud. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 1.5 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Python, Go or Rust
  • 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
  • 2+ years of experience in open source frameworks
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead diverse set of technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, latency sensitive applications and full stack systems to create robust, cloud native, resilient, and highly scalable solutions in data management and security domains.
  • Write high quality code, perform code and design reviews.
  • Share your passion for writing high quality code, staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community.
  • Promote a culture of engineering excellence and being well-managed, using opportunities to reuse and inner source solutions where possible.
  • Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions.
  • Be the guiding force for stakeholders in design and architecture discussions, helping the engineering teams make key technology choices, and staying associated with the use case through its development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with architects and product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences for our customers.
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, Node, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript and Rust, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services.
