Software Engineer - Frontend and Mobile
About The Position
BitGo is a leading infrastructure provider of digital asset solutions, delivering custody, wallets, staking, trading, financing, and settlement services from regulated cold storage. Since its founding in 2013, BitGo has focused on enabling clients to securely navigate the digital asset space, serving thousands of institutions and millions of retail investors worldwide. The company handles a significant portion of Bitcoin network transactions and is the largest independent digital asset custodian and staking provider. BitGo is seeking a Software Engineer with a strong background in React or React Native to join their team. This role involves building cross-platform mobile applications to enhance the BitGo experience for customers and requires being full-time onsite at the Palo Alto office to support collaborative team dynamics and innovative problem-solving.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of proven experience in mobile or web application development
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript and related technologies (ES6, TypeScript)
- Solid understanding of the full mobile or web development life cycle
- Knowledge of UI/UX standards and mobile design principles
- Experience with SQL databases like MySQL or Postgres
- Confident with RESTful API design
- Great with unit and functional testing and debugging
- Experience in Git/GitHub and branching methodologies, code review tools, CI tools, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or another technical discipline from a top university
- Understanding of and strong interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain
- Great at algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Experience with native mobile development (iOS/Android) or React Native is a plus
- Understanding of and experience working in the financial industry
- Familiarity with any of the following: digital wallets, clearing and settlement, lending, trading, accounting systems, etc
Responsibilities
- Design and build advanced applications for the iOS and Android platforms using React Native
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand and refine product requirements
- Provide mentorship to your peers in the broader engineering team through code reviews and education on best practices
