About The Position

Mission Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) and JLVC Modernization initiatives for the Joint Staff J7. This role focuses on advancing next generation modeling and simulation capabilities across Joint, Live, Virtual, and Constructive (JLVC) environments within a high visibility DoD program.

Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with senior government and military stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in complex, high stakes environments with a focus on timely delivery.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to develop innovative technical solutions.
  • Experience developing in a Linux environment.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git.
  • Proficiency in Java and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of NodeJS and ReactJS.
  • Working knowledge of C++/C# in Visual Studio.
  • Strong software debugging skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 is a plus.
  • Active Secret Clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) systems and LVC architectures in government or military environments.
  • Experience integrating LVC solutions and simulation interoperability tools.
  • Familiarity with live training ranges, networks, and Joint LVC systems.
  • Experience leading cross functional teams supporting JOTG modernization efforts.
  • Knowledge of networking and multi domain integration techniques.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills in collaborative, mission focused environments.
  • Ability to deliver innovative solutions for complex operational training challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software components for the JNKE PSF Effects Server and supporting simulation systems.
  • Implement algorithms and data pipelines that convert complex Non Kinetic Effects (NKE) and MSEL injects into interoperable simulation outputs.
  • Develop and integrate modules aligned with JLVC Federation Object Models (FOMs).
  • Engineer and maintain data models supporting enhanced NKE simulation requirements.
  • Ensure interoperability across distributed simulation environments using HLA, DIS, and SISO standards.
  • Collaborate with Space, EMS, and Cyber SMEs to structure and normalize data for simulation use.
  • Support integration of the SISO Cyber Data Exchange Model into the larger simulation framework.
  • Conduct V&V on models, interfaces, and outputs to ensure accuracy and fidelity.
  • Optimize software for performance, scalability, and near real time execution.
  • Contribute to architecture design, technical reviews, and documentation.
  • Provide hands on technical support during integration events, tests, and operational demonstrations.
