About The Position

This opportunity resides with Global Security (GS). Mission Technologies’ Global Security (GS) group comprises live, virtual, constructive (LVC) solutions; fleet sustainment; nuclear and environmental; and Australia business. As a trusted partner to our military customers, HII designs, develops and operates the largest LVC enterprise that prepares warfighters for cross-domain battle. Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C++, including compiling, linking, and debugging
  • Experience with agent-based, event-driven modeling and simulation
  • Foundational space knowledge (e.g., orbital mechanics, coordinate systems, time systems)
  • Passion for problem-solving and thriving in agile environments
  • Must pass a technical coding assessment in C++
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Python, including embedded applications
  • Knowledge of space domain awareness and space combat power
  • Background in math or physics
  • Familiarity with parallel software development
  • Familiarity with U.S. and Allied space enterprise operations

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain space simulation software
  • Support force structure planning, Digital Test and Training – Synthetic Environment, and Joint Combatant Command analysis
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders and customers to capture requirements and deliver solutions
  • Contribute to software architecture and multidisciplinary research
  • Communicate progress and updates via Confluence, Discourse, GitLab, and Jira
