Requirements

  • Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or related field, and 3 years of work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation
  • Requires 2 years of experience in the following:
  • Representing the company with external vendor relationships and driving external product roadmaps.
  • Writing, optimizing, and maintaining low-level hardware drivers, schedulers, CPU governors, and HALs for Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets (888, 865) and related platforms
  • Designing interprocessor-safe and scalable kernel-level improvements, including RCU-linked lists and Android’s Generic Kernel Image (GKI) for smooth kernel upgrades
  • Designing, implementing and optimizing power of low-level, power constrained products using power management techniques, including: Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS), Tickless Idle, Event-driven Programming, Sensor Batching
  • specifically on FreeRTOS, Linux Kernel utilizing hardware acceleration and MCU offload
  • Developing secure and trusted computing features with ARM SCM, Qualcomm TZ, and ARMv9-A (PAC, BTI, MTE) to support applications including DRM, banking, and data protection
  • Building and validating large-scale software products and environments using C/C++14/17, GNU GCC, LLVM Clang, automated CICD pipelines, Docker, and ABI/UABI validation frameworks
  • Designing and deploying low-level drivers and hypervisors, including Qualcomm’s Gunyah Type-1 Hypervisor and custom boot sequence/ARM big.LITTLE optimizations for low-latency startup
  • Engineering heterogeneous SoC solutions using Linux Kernel remoteproc and Devicetree frameworks for scalable runtime driver configuration in AMP systems
  • Advancing embedded systems and device engineering through algorithm development, high-performance firmware, driver frameworks, kernel development, and custom silicon bringup/ debug on FPGAs
  • Ensuring reliability and quality through advanced debugging (JTAG, Lauterbach/TRACE32), robust software development practices (source control, bug tracking, design documentation), and large-scale product deployment

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement components at all layers of the system including kernel, synchronization primitives, resource allocators, memory management, security, I/O systems, and persistence.
  • Design and implement drivers and services that deliver large volumes of data with low-latency and high-bandwidth.
  • Debug complex, system-level, multi-component issues that span across multiple layers from kernel to application.
  • Profile performance problems and drive optimizations spanning the entire software stack.
  • Bring up new devices and lead debugging and performance tuning exercises that span multiple hardware/firmware/software teams.
  • Understand software components from multiple partner teams, lead the integration of those components into the unified product code base, and drive their continued development.
  • Telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. allowed.
