Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Early Career Software Engineer to join our Mission Systems Engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with a multi-discipline team of engineers to develop embedded software for our flight platforms. Our software interacts with avionics hardware and sensors to provide operational flight capabilities to air crews. You may also develop application software used to simulate our missions systems for training purposes. The successful candidate will have experience with C or C++, Linux-based operating systems, and team-based software projects. The successful candidate will also be flexible, motivated, detail-focused, and team-oriented. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent STEM computing field.
  • Academic or professional experience using C/C++, Java, C#, Python, or similar programming languages in embedded applications.
  • Academic or professional experience on at least one team-based project.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of Agile methodology, Scrum framework, and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Operating systems development experience with Unix/Linux, or any Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).
  • Basic knowledge of Git, GitLab, and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience writing or debugging hardware control software.
