About The Position

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Test Engineer- Developer (Experienced or Senior)to support our Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) team located in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The Software Test Engineer will perform as part of a high-performing team and contribute to the development and delivery of innovative software solutions in an agile software development environment interfacing with internal and external stakeholders; contributing to the design and development of next generation ground command and control capabilities. The Delphi program is seeking a software engineer to develop Mod & Sim-based test and training capabilities for Satellite Digital Twins and Space Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) programs. We seek a self-driven person who enjoys being on a high-performing team to support the future of wargaming, testing, training, exercises, and operational system performance and behavior. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Experienced or Senior Level Software Engineer -Developer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline experience or 13 years’ related relevant work experience
  • 3 or more years of experience with Agile software development
  • 3 or more years of experience with version control and software collaborations tools (e.g. Gitlab, Jira)
  • 3 or more years of experience with software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and test
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Level 4: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 or more years of experience with software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and test
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural diagrams
  • Experience with object-oriented design and implementation
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain integration and system-level test suites that validate behavior across simulation, services, and HMI layers.
  • Automate end-to-end test execution on the stack (for example, back-end orchestration through a simulation manager).
  • Create and maintain automated HMI tests (e.g., using Playwright or equivalent frameworks).
  • Collaborate with developers to improve and extend unit test coverage and ensure testability is incorporated into designs.
  • Author, maintain, and execute formal test plans, test cases, and traceability artifacts.
  • Assist with automated deployment workflows and continuous verification in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and document defects; work with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Communicate test status, risks, and results to stakeholders and represent the team professionally across internal and external interfaces.
