About The Position

As a Software Engineer on the Developer Experience team, you will build the foundational pieces for all DoorDash Mobile applications. These include runtime libraries, build systems, and development tools. You will work closely with engineers, technical product managers, and engineering managers across all parts of the engineering organization to deliver large and impactful initiatives. Additionally, you will be a culture carrier for our Mobile engineers through mentorship, education, and engagement of your peers. You will report into the Engineering Manager of our Mobile Developer Experience team in our Developer Platform organization. You must be located in either San Francisco, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA, or New York, NY.

Requirements

  • You have 2+ years of iOS development experience.
  • You have experience with the details of Gradle or other mobile build systems.
  • You have a product mindset and apply that to how you would build out platform services.
  • You love people, systems, and software and are competent working with all three.
  • You’re curious and like to dive deep into different system architectures.
  • You are an organized and excellent written and verbal communicator.

  • Build from the ground up. You will architect and implement foundational libraries, cutting-edge build systems, and innovative development tools that serve as the bedrock for all of our mobile applications.
  • Solve complex, high-impact challenges. You will tackle some of the most significant technical hurdles in mobile engineering, and the solutions you deliver will be leveraged by hundreds of engineers across numerous product teams.
  • Act as a force multiplier. Your work will directly empower product teams to build, test, and release new features to our customers faster and more reliably than ever before.
  • Lead and mentor. You will have the opportunity to guide and influence the mobile engineering community, sharing your expertise, promoting best practices, and fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Collaborate across the organization. You will work in a highly cross-functional environment, partnering with a diverse group of engineers, product managers, and leaders to drive critical initiatives forward.
