Pony.ai, founded in 2016 in Silicon Valley, has rapidly established itself as a global leader in autonomous mobility. The company is at the forefront of extending autonomous mobility technologies and services across a growing number of sites worldwide. With a focus on operating Robotaxi, Robotruck, and Personally Owned Vehicles (POV) business units, Pony.ai is committed to developing the safest autonomous driving capabilities on a global scale. The company's innovative approach has garnered recognition, including a ranking of #10 on CNBC's Disruptor list of the 50 most innovative tech companies in 2022 and a #12 ranking on the inaugural XB100 list of the world's top 100 private deep tech companies in 2023. As of August 2023, Pony.ai has successfully accumulated nearly 15 million miles of autonomous driving globally. As a Software Engineer specializing in Deep Learning, you will collaborate with experts in the field of self-driving vehicles to work on software architecture and design, system and module design, evaluation metrics, and the specification and implementation of test and regression frameworks. Your role will involve designing and developing large-scale foundation models trained on vast amounts of real-world data. You will be responsible for framing open-ended real-world problems into well-defined machine learning (ML) problems and applying cutting-edge ML approaches, including deep learning, reinforcement learning, and imitation learning, to these challenges. Additionally, you will scale these solutions to data pipelines and streamline them for real-time operation in vehicles. Your responsibilities will also include developing and deploying deep learning models, such as vision language models (VLMs) and large language models (LLMs), while optimizing these models to run robustly under tight runtime constraints. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of autonomous driving technology and to be part of a pioneering team in the industry.
