About the Team DoorDash is a data driven organization and relies on timely, accurate and reliable data to drive many business and product decisions. The Core Data Platform org owns all the infrastructure necessary to run an operationally efficient analytical data stack. The Data Mobility Frameworks team within the core data platform aims to provide a scalable and reliable compute framework layer capable of processing trillions of data points per day. This framework is essential for enabling timely business-critical decision-making, facilitating rapid experimentation, and supporting the training and deployment of ML/AI models for real-time personalization. The Data Mobility Framework team builds simplified, integrated abstractions over analytical engines such as Apache Spark, Flink and Airflow for data engineers, product teams, machine learning engineers and analysts. The focus extends to enhancing the developer experience by creating tools that support the organization's high-velocity demands. Come join us and be part of the mission. You must be located in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or Seattle for this hybrid position. You will report into the Engineering Manager on our Data Mobility Frameworks team.

  • Drive vision & strategy for building the frameworks charter and position it to handle the challenges of a rapidly growing business.
  • Scale the analytical platform for the increasing amounts of data and use cases.
  • You will bring your expertise in building and operating high scale systems with a focus on reliability, scalability and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders building solutions on top of the platform
  • Foster a positive and supportive work culture, upleveling others.
  • B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of industry experience.
  • Prior experience in Systems Engineering - you've built meaningful big data processing systems at scale, and have experience with big data compute engines such as Apache Spark and Apache Flink.
  • Familiarity with Datalakes and table formats such as Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg.
  • Familiarity with a cloud based environment such as AWS.
  • Professional experience with at least one of the programming languages such as Java, Scala Python or Go.
  • Good knowledge of SQL.
  • You are located or willing to relocate to the Bay Area or Seattle.
