About The Position

We are seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to help design, develop, and maintain the cloud infrastructure and data pipelines that support advanced AI-driven operations. In this role, you will build and optimize tools for machine learning workflows, facility analytics, and operational systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency. You will work closely with ML, Data Operations, Data Platform, and Operations teams to deliver cloud-based solutions that directly impact business performance and AI development. This role emphasizes both hands-on engineering and cross-functional collaboration, contributing to projects that transform large-scale recycling operations. You will have the opportunity to work in a remote-first environment while occasionally collaborating on-site to align strategy and execution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2-4 years of production-level Python development.
• 2+ years of production-level experience in modern frontend JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React).
• 2+ years experience with SQL databases.
• 2+ years experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred).
• 2-4 years of cloud development experience, preferably in GCP.
• Experience designing and operating production software systems.
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Knowledge of full-stack web frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, React, Angular).
• Ability to work independently and on small teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with cloud networking and machine learning lifecycle is a plus.
• Passion for sustainability, robotics, and AI-driven innovation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure and data pipelines supporting AI and operational workflows.
• Contribute to cross-functional projects involving machine learning lifecycle, analytics, and cloud tooling.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and operations teams to improve AI platform performance and reliability.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using tools such as Terraform.
• Participate in the development and optimization of backend and frontend components using Python and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Apply best practices for software engineering, including code reviews, testing, source control, and CI/CD workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and performance of cloud services.
