Software Engineer (C++ / Vacuum Automation) Job Description The qualified candidate will work with a team of software and hardware engineers in supporting industry leading vacuum system platforms including new cutting-edge designs, product extensions, and continuous improvements to system throughput and performance.

Requirements

  • BSEE / BSCS with a minimum of 5 years of experience OR MSEE / MSCS with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of C++ programming expertise.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent technical communication and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • RTOS (Real-Time Systems) experience preferred.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems preferred.
  • Competency in Python software preferred.
  • Related coursework, experience or research in controls, and/or dynamic systems, or robotics.
  • Ability to learn complex systems quickly and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include developing software, verifying software design, and testing software quality of various vacuum systems and components.
  • May include supporting Manufacturing, motion control tuning, characterizing servo performance and stability, characterizing payload vibration, and developing/maintaining/releasing documentation.
  • Will also be responsible for streamlining or automating configuration, calibration and testing vacuum components, as well as the development of routines for automatic data collection and analysis.
