As a Software Engineer on the Azure Core One Fleet Platform team, you will help build and scale the foundational infrastructure that powers Microsoft’s cloud services. This opportunity allows you to develop software and tools that support platform capabilities and new product introductions across a massive distributed system. You’ll create extensible and maintainable code for backend services, collaborating with stakeholders to define user requirements and integrate feedback into future designs. You’ll contribute to testing plans and quality assurance, applying debugging tools, telemetry, and logs to proactively identify and resolve issues. This role offers exposure to cloud services development, distributed systems, and computer architecture, with a focus on backend complexity and cross-team collaboration. You’ll learn to meet customer scaling requirements and apply best practices for performance, reliability, and compliance—ensuring solutions uphold high standards for security, privacy, safety, and accessibility.

  • Develop software and tools that support platform capabilities and new product introductions.

  • Familiarity with Code Agents such as Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and Llama.
