About The Position

Barclays is seeking a Software Engineer AVP to serve as a Technical Lead within the Financial and Regulatory Reporting team in Investment Banking Finance. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering multiple projects in an Agile environment. You will work closely with the Architect Owner and Agile Team Lead to identify strategies for implementation. In this role you will identify dependencies, changes in infrastructure and suggest improvements. You'll collaborate with the Product Owners and Scrum Master in prioritizing the sprint backlog and contributing to the product backlog grooming.

Requirements

• Experience with development tools (Oracle PL/SQL, Tableau, Autosys/airflow, AWS, pySpark)
• Experience with various scripting languages (Python, Perl, JavaScript)
• Experience with full SDLC lifecycle including waterfall and agile methodologies

Nice To Haves

• Financial industry experience
• Big data experience, such as Hadoop
• Ability to deliver highly detailed technical information to key stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
