Department Summary: The Analysis Innovation Department within MITRE’s Intelligence Center develops creative solutions to evolve complex, mission essential capabilities, bringing expertise in developing analytic solutions, data science, and workforce and business process maturation. We define, architect, design and prototype creative ways to integrate and fuse all-source intelligence and new sources of data to empower analysts and inform the programmatic and technical direction of new and existing programs. The Department develops unique ways to receive and integrate all-source intelligence, increase sharing of tactical and strategic intelligence, support situational awareness and specific missions, better integrate intelligence and operations, and create products that are more useful to the consumer. The successful candidate will be passionate about designing and developing capabilities to solve real world problems.

Requirements

  • Active or recent TS/SCI with Polygraph level
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or related technical field
  • Demonstrated experience developing in Python, Java, C++
  • Prior experience developing data-intensive full stack containerized web applications using Node.js, Flask, Django, or other technologies
  • Experience developing interactive data visualizations using open source web technologies (Angular, Vue, React, D3.js) or other frameworks (Shiny, Dash)
  • This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Git version control software
  • Experience with containerized services and orchestration tools (Docker Swarm, Kubernetes)
  • Experience building web applications using languages such as JavaScript (Vue, React), Django, and R-Shiny
  • Experience with HTTP REST, HTTP SOAP, AJAX, web services, and related emerging web standards.
  • Experience with big data, distributed systems, cloud platforms (Hadoop, AWS, Spark, Kafka, etc.), and microservices
  • Familiarity with working in cloud-based environments like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure and their machine learning tools.
  • Experience visualizing multi-dimensional data using tools like Tableau, ggplot2, Plotly, matplotlib, seaborn, or D3.js

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, functional code on the front-end and back-end
  • Develop applications using a range of different technologies and languages (including 2 or more: Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML, PHP, C#)
  • Work with a team to propose and design data analytics
  • Implement emerging technologies and capabilities
  • Present work and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences both verbally and in written form
