About The Position

Seeking an experienced Software Architect / Senior Software Engineer to join a small, highly focused team developing and maintaining signal processing applications in support of real-time operational environments. This role supports mission-critical defense systems and requires close collaboration with operations personnel to meet continuously evolving requirements. The selected engineer will contribute across the full software and systems engineering lifecycle, including architecture, development, integration & test, and metrics, while providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant software engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Software Architect.
  • Strong software development experience using Java or C++.
  • Experience working within cloud environments and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or Kafka.
  • Experience implementing enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering processes, including:
  • -Requirements management
  • -Use case development
  • -Trade studies
  • Experience with Cameo Modeling using Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
  • Experience working within the SAFe Agile software development framework.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI clearance required prior to start
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting SIGINT, Digital Communications, or Digital Signal Processing (DSP) software development efforts.
  • Multi-language programming experience including C++, Java, Python, and Go.
  • Experience with Cameo Modeling using the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the program’s baseline modernization efforts.
  • Provide technical direction and architectural design guidance to Agile software development teams and engineering personnel.
  • Mentor and guide both senior and junior engineers.
  • Generate software cost and schedule estimates to support future development bids using parametric analysis techniques (SLOC, labor hours, and other metrics).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout all phases of systems engineering, software development, integration, and testing.
  • Work closely with operational stakeholders to support real-time mission needs and evolving requirements.
