About The Position

This is a full-time in office (hybrid) role based in our Austin, Dallas or New York offices. This position is part of Sixth Street's growing data analytics team. You will play a pivotal role in how we story-tell with our data—transforming complex information into compelling, actionable insights. We have built, and will continue to build, custom analytics solutions, giving you room for creativity in how data is displayed, visualized, and consumed across the organization. This role requires versatility. While your primary focus will be analytics engineering, you will occasionally wear multiple hats: the data engineering hat when building data pipelines to bring in data needed for dashboards, the software engineering hat to ensure dashboard components are reusable across the company by contributing to our internal libraries, and the infrastructure hat to maintain impeccable CI/CD processes and ensure our stacks are optimized for scalability and performance. About our Product and Stack We are building custom analytics solutions to provide data-driven insights and enable storytelling with data across the firm We are heavily Python / AWS centric, leaning on containerized services and service-oriented-architecture We utilize S3 and Snowflake for our date lake and operational data store solutions We use Airflow for workflow orchestration We use Github Actions for CI/CD We use Cloudformation and CDK for Infrastructure as Code

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of total experience in software development with 3+ years in Python
  • Degree in Computer Science or a STEM field
  • Advanced programming skills with a focus on writing clean, modular and testable code.
  • Experience working with relational data stores (e.g., Snowflake, Postgres)
  • Experience with Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools to manage complex data dependencies and scheduling
  • Experience with React (or an eagerness to learn) to help build and maintain our custom internal analytics libraries and UI components.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and building dashboards
  • Passion for CI/CD and shipping well-engineered code in a repeatable and reliable way
  • Comfortable working in a Unix shell
  • Curiosity and hunger to keep learning
  • Strong sense of urgency; ability to execute quickly and efficiently with strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Work within an agile team, designing and developing analytics solutions, dashboards, and data visualizations
  • Collaborate closely with the product team to understand requirements and translate them into impactful data presentations
  • Full ownership of analytics components and services from design to post-production monitoring
  • Design and develop high-impact data presentations tailored for executive leadership, ensuring a high bar for UX, visual polish, and narrative clarity.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines to support dashboard and reporting needs
  • Contribute to internal libraries to ensure dashboard components are reusable and consistent across the company
  • Support CI/CD processes and infrastructure to ensure scalability and performance
  • Work with tools like GitHub, Jira, Docker, Snowflake, Postgres, and various AWS offerings
