About The Position

At Maxima, we’re building an agentic AI platform to automate enterprise accounting. Our system handles high-volume financial data, complex accounting workflows, and robust executions that must be accurate and reliable. We’re tackling some of the hardest problems in enterprise automation, and we’ve assembled a world-class engineering team with staff-level talent from Robinhood, Glean, Google, Netflix, and Meta. Maxima is backed by top-tier investors including Kleiner Perkins and Redpoint Ventures, and we’re trusted by category-defining customers like Scale AI and Rippling. Role Overview As an AI Engineer at Maxima, you’ll work at the intersection of AI systems and product, building agentic workflows that power real-world enterprise accounting automation. This role is not pure research or modeling—you’ll focus on turning modern AI capabilities into reliable, production-ready systems used by customers every day. You’ll design and iterate on prompts, evaluations, and model interfaces; build and orchestrate agent workflows; and integrate AI components deeply into our product and infrastructure. A core part of the role is ensuring AI-driven systems are reliable and scalable, especially in high-stakes financial workflows. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to ship end-to-end features, and you’ll help shape how AI is developed, tested, and deployed across the company. We value engineers who are pragmatic, product-minded, and excited to push AI systems from experimentation into dependable production.
