Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. As a Software Engineer, you will leverage the software development expertise to design, build, and implement the agentic tooling and systems. These intelligent agents will automate and scale security processes, analyze risks, detect vulnerabilities, and assist developer teams across Google in embedding security best practices throughout the entire development life cycle. Your work will be crucial in enabling Google to ship secure products more efficiently and effectively at scale.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Understanding of information security principles, common vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development of agents and infrastructure to automate security reviews, vulnerability handling, triage, and conduct variant analysis to reduce manual workloads.
• Promote quality security practices across the organization, influencing software engineers, immediate colleagues, and across Google.
• Partner with offensive security teams to translate the latest "red team" findings into automated detection logic and agent capabilities.
• Work closely with information security engineers to identify and design new tools for product security consulting, response and research, especially related to AI agents.
