BlackRock is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team and help build our next-generation Data & AI platform. You'll work across the stack—from high-performance backend systems to intuitive, user-facing components—on a platform that leverages modern cloud, infrastructure, and AI technologies. We're looking for engineers with strong software fundamentals and a builder's mindset. This role is ideal for someone excited by full stack development, scalable system design, and the opportunity to grow into AI/ML work. Our team is deeply focused on AI, and while experience in that space is a bonus, we'll help you learn on the job.

  • Design and Implement Scalable Systems: Build performant, resilient, AI-powered services that enhance existing workflows or enable entirely new business capabilities.
  • Develop Full Stack Features: Work across backend and frontend layers to deliver complete, user-facing capabilities. (React or similar experience is a plus.)
  • Follow Engineering Best Practices: Write clean, testable code and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, observability, and containerization.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with product managers, designers, and AI engineers to deliver high-impact features.
  • Explore and Integrate AI Workflows: Help bring generative AI capabilities into high-impact business workflows.
  • Document and Support: Produce clear, maintainable documentation for developers and users alike.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, system design, and concurrency.
  • Proficiency in backend development using Python, Java, or Go.
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks like React (or similar).
  • Familiarity with API technologies such as FastAPI, gRPC, or GraphQL.
  • Experience with cloud platforms—Azure preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools; experience with ArgoCD or GitOps workflows is a plus.
  • Familiarity with messaging/streaming systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub).
  • Exposure to observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
  • Interest or experience in LLMs, AI/ML, or MLOps is a bonus.
  • Strong retirement plan
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Comprehensive healthcare
  • Support for working parents
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO)
