About The Position

We are seeking a Software Engineer (SWE2) focused on building AI-assisted developer tooling that improves productivity, code quality, and the overall software development experience. In this role, you will design and integrate advanced development tools—including AI-powered IDE capabilities and automated workflows—that help engineers build, test, and ship software more efficiently. You will experiment with agentic and semi-autonomous systems to support common development tasks such as code review, test generation, and quality analysis. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy working close to developer workflows, rapidly prototyping new ideas, and turning experimentation into practical, production-ready tooling.

Requirements

  • Strong software engineering skills in one or more modern programming languages.
  • Experience working with IDEs, developer tools, or build and test systems .
  • Hands-on experience with AI- or LLM-powered developer tools , including chat-based interfaces or automated coding agents.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype, evaluate, and refine experimental tooling.
  • Solid understanding of modern software development workflows and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automated code review , static analysis, or quality enforcement tools.
  • Knowledge of agentic AI frameworks or orchestration systems.
  • Experience working on developer platforms or internal engineering enablement teams.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience developing VS Code extensions using TypeScript and Electron.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI-assisted IDE and developer tooling capabilities.
  • Build and integrate agent-based systems to automate repetitive development tasks such as code reviews, unit test generation, and code quality analysis.
  • Experiment with autonomous or semi-autonomous agents to enhance software development workflows.
  • Integrate new tooling into existing development platforms, build systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to gather feedback and iteratively improve tooling.
  • Measure, evaluate, and document the effectiveness of developer productivity improvements.
  • Maintain clear documentation to support adoption and long-term maintainability of tools.
