About the team and the role:
eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in Austin, TX

Requirements

• Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
• Designing and developing scheduling systems such as Apache Airflow, contributing to high availability and scalability (2 years)
• Developing analysis notebooks including Jupiter and similar tools, supporting data exploration and model prototyping (2 years)
• Designing and building metadata management systems (similar to Open Metadata) to improve data governance and accessibility (2 years)
• Building end-to-end AI projects with a strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, including K-means clustering, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), and auto-encoders (1 year)
• Working with multiple programming languages and tools including Java, Python, and Shell scripting (2 years)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and interactive notebooks that serve as powerful tools for data analysis, visualization, and predictive modeling.
• Optimize performance of notebooks to handle large datasets and complex computations with minimal latency.
• Connect notebooks to diverse data sources such as databases, data warehouses, APIs, and real-time data streams to fetch and manipulate data efficiently.
• Implement advanced data visualization techniques to create intuitive and interactive graphs, charts, and dashboards that clearly communicate findings and insights.
• Build and integrate machine learning models within notebooks, facilitating rapid prototyping, testing, and deployment of predictive models.
• Utilize tools like Git to manage versions and collaborate with other team members on notebook development projects.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in notebook technologies, data science, and related fields to continuously improve the functionality and efficiency of notebooks.
